Minecraft Java Edition Server:
- Owner: takatronix
-
Spent a majority of time from 8th grade to 9th grade
- Started as a player
- Then became a staff member
- Eventually faded out
-
At that time, the server aimed to recreate a capitalist economy
- One of the most notable features was a trading system where items could be traded like stocks
- The system was called “Trading Board”

I made a plugin for Minecraft that allows trading of resources through an auction system, similar to stocks and cryptocurrencies. It enables limit orders and market orders for auctioning materials. I wonder if this is the first time it has been done in Minecraft. pic.twitter.com/hVCZL9DM9b

- Creating motivation to collect money is the most important aspect of running such a server
- This was achieved through gambling content and the honor of obtaining rare items
- One of the most notable features was a trading system where items could be traded like stocks
-
As a staff member, I developed Minecraft plugins using Kotlin and created plugins like a bookmaker
- These plugins allowed players to bet server currency on activities such as parkour and boat races
-
I’m not sure what the current status is
- I wonder what they are aiming for after the reset…?
- There were some issues during Season 3, which caused some confusion

In a way, running the server was 100% remote work
- Not in the traditional sense, though
- There were no meetings where everyone had to gather, discussions were held through voice chat while working
- It’s amazing that it worked well without having physical meetings
- There were some issues with communication, though
-
Another idea from an outside perspective is to divide players into groups (countries, for example) and compete with each other’s economic growth
- Previously, the motivation came from the sense of honor/superiority within the server and the enjoyment of spending money
- Adding a competitive element against other groups by earning money could enhance the motivation
- Even casual users who only spend a few minutes a day could enjoy the growth of their affiliated group
- If rankings such as JMS were based on values (such as votes and server playtime) competed among groups, the overall server ranking would increase during the competition.
