vs [Programming as a Purpose]
-
I personally think like this:
- Means: Motivation is about 70% for the purpose (subjective estimation)
A tweet I saw related to Github Copilot:
There’s no one who does programming just because they want to do programming. Programming is a means to achieve the desired functionality, so we do programming because we have something we want to accomplish. It’s not about looking for something to create because we want to do programming. If we can replace programming with AI and avoid doing it, that would be even better. @(kohack_v) July 1, 2021

I like organizing and designing external factors other than programming. But I also enjoy the moments of writing code silently, so give me unlimited time~. That’s how I feel. https://t.co/logdUzO809 @(mogmogvr) July 1, 2021 “I like organizing and designing external factors other than programming.” I feel like I understand.

(Although it doesn’t seem very clear)

However, Competitive Programming is just fun.
- I wonder why?
- Maybe it’s because the enjoyment of writing code itself is combined with the fun of competitiveness.
- It’s not like I’m writing code with no emotions, I think I continue because I can enjoy it to some extent.
- Speaking of that, I didn’t really have the perception of being someone who enjoys writing code.
- I thought this might be causing a difference in perception with other people in GKADC.
- Speaking of that, I didn’t really have the perception of being someone who enjoys writing code.
-
If I emphasize the subject more, I can say it’s a tool of technology, right?
-
Ah, but it’s not the perspective of “technology/engineering/programming as a means to improve society.”
- If I simply write “programming as a means,” it might be misunderstood.
