- I’ve tried keeping a diary several times, but I usually give up after three days.
- However, when I think about it, I write significantly more information on Scrapbox than in a typical diary.
- I wonder why the diary style didn’t work for me (probably).

I started thinking that I want to keep a diary.
-
Reasons:
- I’ve started dumping all my knowledge/thoughts into Scrapbox.
- So, I also want to record my emotions.
- Since I can’t write private things that I don’t want others to see on my public Scrapbox, I wanted a place for that.
-
Trigger:

- When I saw this, I thought that if I don’t keep a diary, I won’t be able to remember my current emotions in five years.
- I felt a strong sense of loneliness, so I wanted to start keeping a diary.
-
Considering the tools to use:
- Desired features:
- Ease of use, allowing for short sentences.
- Multi-platform support.
- Private.
- Easy to record emotions.
- Desired features:
-
DayOne series:
- It’s not that important to have specific dates, so it’s a bit different.
- I want to know what kind of emotions I had five years ago, for example.
-
Scrapbox:
- It seems good because it’s extensible.
- The difficulty lies in how to record dates.

- Maybe this?
-
Roam:

-
A combination of a diary (DAILY NOTES), a wiki, and an outliner.
- This might be better.
-
- I’ve been curious about Roam and want to try it.
- However, it’s expensive, so I’ll be in trouble when the free trial period ends.
