I conducted a Theory of Knowledge presentation on the topic of “Generalization” in various situations/fields. The presentation was done with (axokxi) and focused on the idea of generalizing in different contexts rather than what we know, exploring how we know.

The guiding question was: What role does the inductive process of generalization play in the production of knowledge?

Skipping the process, the conclusion drawn was that there are two roles in generalized knowledge. The roles of generalized knowledge can be limited by two factors:

  • When historical contexts use subjective language, applying generalized knowledge can lead to subjective interpretations.
  • In fields that use quantitative approaches, generalized concepts are expressed mathematically, eliminating subjective interpretations.

This concept is also known as “uniformity.” Without it, the application of deductive reasoning becomes challenging, thus limiting the role of generalized knowledge.

While some aspects were simplified to meet the deadline, I believe the analysis provided was reasonably valid.
