Startup Accelerator §

• The idea of doing something like a startup accelerator that even ordinary people can do.

• The reason why social problems are not being solved is not because the problems are difficult, but because smart people are not working on them.

• Smart people are busy creating filters for Snapchat (to put it in simple terms).

• I want to do a larger version of the PayPal Mafia.

• I’m a little worried because I only talk about vague things.

• There are a lot of stories like “I’ve grown a lot” or “the community is amazing,” but there are no specific details.

• They say they created their own service, but isn’t Slack or Facebook enough?

• I don’t understand the significance of putting a lot of effort into creating things like chat or feed.

• Benefits of participating:

  • Strong community
    • Can propose discussion meetings to other students
    • There is a feed
  • There are various MOOC-like resources, although it seems like they choose buzzwords.
  • Can search for resources written by people in the community.

• Actually, I feel like a foundation should be doing this.

  • It’s overwhelming for one person, so it would be better to strengthen community involvement.
