Entering the United States
To enter the U.S., there are certain items that you need to have with you in your carry-on luggage, rather than in your suitcase:
- Proof of full vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test, which will be checked by the airline before departure. There are some limited exceptions to this requirement. Make sure to complete the Vaccine Travel Assessment to confirm that you have the necessary documents.
- A valid passport.
- A valid visa (Canadian citizens are exempt from the visa requirement).
- Your I-20 form.
- The SEVIS fee receipt.
- Financial documents that were used for your I-20 application.

Check-in Procedures
After arriving in the U.S., you will need to go through the check-in process. It is recommended to ignore individuals who approach you and instead look for official personnel to assist you.
If you are a resident of John Jay, Hartley, or Wallach, you will need to check-in in front of Hamilton Hall. You can use “116th Street and Amsterdam Avenue” as your drop-off address.

After Check-in
Once you have completed the check-in process, you can proceed with the Columbia NSOP (New Student Orientation Program) and refer to the 2022渡米後のスケジュール (Schedule after arriving in the U.S.) for further information.
