- In the case of a robot arm, having more than 6 degrees of freedom is beneficial.
- This is because it creates redundancy.
- It allows reaching a given position with multiple postures.
- Human arms also have 7 degrees of freedom.
- However, as redundancy increases (more joints, etc.), control becomes more challenging. #Robot
