Seems interesting as reading material
- It seems like it could make you realize that you only know a tiny fraction of what’s happening in the world (blu3mo)
- It seems like you could comprehensively grasp what is happening (economically) and has a presence in the world (blu3mo)
- Looking at the “AI” page, I thought that if everyone could have this level of understanding across all industries, the way the world is seen would change significantly (blu3mo)
- Also heavily influenced by Coffee Inc 2
- Acquiring a perspective of viewing various things as “businesses” and being interested in them
-
It seems like it can correct biases arising from one’s skewed information intake and susceptibility to biased reporting
- For example, one might have a vague image like “the semiconductor industry is strong,” while not even showing interest in industries like consumer finance or real estate
- However, at least in terms of certain evaluation criteria, the consumer finance and real estate industries seem to be larger and stronger than the semiconductor industry
-
“Visibility” and “scale” are different
-
Even in industries one is not familiar with, there are companies one knows of due to fundraising or the CEO appearing in the media
- However, behind that, there might be companies ten times larger that one didn’t know about
-
I think the person writing this must have a completely different perspective from mine
- This book fundamentally measures everything in economic indicators/yardsticks, so their way of spotting things, interests, and perspectives are completely different from mine
- (Not a criticism)
