SSN

In general, international students and scholars are required to have authorized employment in order to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). However, there are a few exceptions to this rule:

• If you are engaged in on-campus employment, you are eligible to apply for an SSN.
• It seems that currently, there is not much flexibility to engage in on-campus employment solely for the purpose of obtaining an SSN.
