These conditions apply only to the 2021-22 academic year.
-
These conditions apply only at the time of application.
- There are quite a few cases where self-reporting is required after acceptance.
-
Summarized in the table below:
- self-report: where you can self-report on the application form
- official: where you need to send official test scores through a designated form (with a deadline of December 18th)
- counselor: where the scores are sent by the school counselor
- blank: not yet investigated (does not mean it is not required!)

SAT
- It’s safe to assume that all of these require self-reporting, except for Princeton.
-
TOEFL
- Not sure about this one.
- It’s too much trouble, so unless it’s confirmed as self-reporting or not required, it’s better to send all scores.
- Confirmed self-reporting:
- Confirmed not required:
- Columbia (if SAT is satisfied) https://undergrad.admissions.columbia.edu/english-proficiency
-
IB Result
- If it’s not necessary to send it, I don’t want to send it (I want to be evaluated based on predicted scores only).
- If there is no basis for sending it, I don’t want to send it.
-
UC
- Berkeley and UCSD don’t accept additional info, so they can’t be sent.
-
MIT
-
CA
-
- Williams told me to send it, so I’m a little worried if other universities are okay with not sending it.
- Well, if it’s not requested, I can just leave it.
-
Notes
- UC application
- Be careful because the information on the UC website and the campus-specific websites may differ.
- Some campus-specific websites state that TOEFL scores should be sent.
- For example, UC Berkeley
- UCLA is ambiguous and hard to understand.
- TOEFL scores are apparently shared across all campuses (not for DET and IELTS).
- In other words, are IB scores for those taking the May exam only after acceptance?
- Then the system might be based on that assumption. https://www.compassprep.com/self-reporting-test-scores/

This resource seems useful.
- It also includes the source, which is nice.
