- Sleep
- Recently, I have had several opportunities (?) to sleep on the floor, and I have gradually understood the necessary conditions.
- Conditions for being able to sleep on the floor:
- Hygiene:
- I’m not sure about the impact on health, but I personally feel resistance to sleeping in areas where shoes are worn.
- Even if the floor is not a shoe area, just placing a sheet or mat on it makes it more comfortable.
- Coldness:
- I can’t sleep if it’s cold, and even if I manage to sleep, I wake up easily.
- From experience, I have learned that the floor is often colder than the air.
- It seems good to have insulation mats or down jackets.
- Firmness:
- Surprisingly, I realized that I can manage even if the floor is quite firm.
- Of course, a softer surface is better, but I can still sleep.
- I was able to sleep on a relatively firm carpet, at least.
- It’s surprising to learn that firmness is not that important in the sleeping environment.
